New Years Resolutions anyone?

I'm usually not one for these, but I've always got things I want to do and I never...well...do them. ^^; So I figure I'll give it a try. At least when it comes to my art. I want to be able to paint at the skill level of :iconhibbary:, :iconbalaa: or :iconscrewbald: (which in actuality would mean I would like to have the figure drawing skills like BlackTegan and painting skills like :iconkenket: since Screwbald is a collaboration account)...one day at least. ^^;

So I figure I should make a few art related resolutions...

1) Practice more animation outside of school and Gallery 37. Doing schoolwork is good and all, but I don't get to really animate things that I want to. Plus I've got a little project for myself that I really wanna try...

2) Try to sketch something everyday. Whether it be some silly chibi or something realistic, I should try to draw something everyday.

3) Get some better painting supplies and paint some more. My brushes and paints I have now kinda suck 'cause they're so cheap. I'm hoping to go to Utrecht or Blick's with my friend and get some good supplies.

4) Draw more people. :XD:

5) Work on more textures other than fur.

I think that's good enough for one year. ^^;

So what are you guys' resolutions?

I agree on the sketching bit part.^^ For I try to make it a habit just incase.

I need to work on backgrounds the most and try new art skills on digital for mines seem bleh..--,

those are some pretty big art goals, especially trying to get up to the skill level as those artists in just one year. i wish you luck, though :) im sure you can do it if you really keep at it.

to suck less at drawing period. I also want to get a better grasp at using the 3D program Maya, because its haunted me in my sleep for awhile now, since I didn't do so hot in that class. T_T

Maya looks like a hard program to use. I'm not in computer animation so I don't think I'll have to use it or any other 3D programs.

Well it'd be impossible to get to their skill level in a year...but maybe I could get to BlackTegan's level in sketching.

I just wanna be at their level one day...^^;

My dog woke me up with it's whining so I had to let him out and wait till he was done. Thanks to him I couldn't go back to sleep so I came online until I got tired and I went back to sleep and I woke up at like.....7 or 8 o clock because I forgot to wash the dishes so I had to wake up....AGAIN to do that. This is why my sleep cycle is off...these damn distractions -_-

Yes those are some good ideas, I've been distracted from my art and I sorely need to get back into it so I may make some similar resolutions. A definate one of mine is to finish up a few avatar sets for the graphic chat Feritas we're producing. I really hope we can get it up and working in the coming year. =]
